Ola Suliman, humanitarian and  peace activist, founding member and Media mentor, Mayday Rescue (Syria)

Ola Suliman is originally from Homs, Syria. She studied engineering. Ola’s participation in the Syrian revolution began in April 2011 when she took part in peaceful demonstrations and the provision of shelter, food and medical aid to displaced Syrians. She was obliged to leave the country as a political refugee in November 2013 due to security concerns. Shortly thereafter, in Turkey, she resumed her humanitarian work to support Syrians from outside the country. She was a founding member of MAYDAY rescue which supports and trains humanitarian volunteers in Syria.

She helps in the training and equipping of Syrian rescue teams. She also serves as a media and communication officer for Mayday Rescue, ensuring that news from Syria goes around the world to raise awareness of the dramatic humanitarian crisis within Syria.

Ola has one child. She is an electronics and communication engineer. She has a passion for mathematics and algorithms. And for peace and humanity.
